How Rankings Are Calculated
Rankings based on average COP@5°F (38%), SEER2 (24%), cold climate portfolio % (23%), portfolio depth (8%), and repeatability/model count (7%). More models = more statistically reliable averages. Only QMID-verified manufacturers are included in main rankings.
Average COP@5°F rating across portfolio. Higher = better heating efficiency in extreme cold.
Average SEER2 rating. Higher = more efficient cooling with lower electricity bills.
Percentage of units with COP@5°F >= 1.75. Higher = more options for cold climates.
Variety of unique models offered. More options = better chance of finding the right fit.
Total model count relative to market leader. More models = more statistically reliable averages.
Data sourced from AHRI certifications and NEEP CCASHP database. Rankings are recalculated as new products are certified.
