Find Your QMID2026 IRS Qualified Manufacturer List
Search the qualified manufacturer list for the QMID code you need on IRS Form 5695.
What Is the Qualified Manufacturer List?
A QMID (Qualified Manufacturer Identification number) is a four-character code the IRS assigns to manufacturers whose products qualify for the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit, also known as the 25C tax credit. The credit was expanded by the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Starting with tax year 2025, you must enter the manufacturer's QMID on IRS Form 5695 to claim the credit on your federal income taxes.
The credit covers heat pumps, central air conditioners, furnaces, water heating equipment, biomass stoves, and energy efficiency upgrades like insulation, windows, and doors installed in a home in the United States. Annual credit limits apply: up to $2,000 for heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and biomass stoves, and up to $1,200 for other qualifying improvements. The QMID appears on the manufacturer's product certification statement, but tracking it down can be a hassle — that's what this directory is for.
Use the search above to find codes for major brands like Trane, Rheem, Lennox, Carrier, Bradford White, and Milgard. Each manufacturer page lists the QMID, the brand names it covers, and answers to common questions, so you have everything you need for your tax filing or rebate claim. For step-by-step filing help, see our Form 5695 guides, or explore heat pump and air conditioner data in HVAC Market Insights.
