Osburn
About Osburn
Osburn is a Canadian manufacturer of wood and pellet stoves, fireplace inserts, and fireplaces. Founded in 1979 by Bob Mills in Victoria, British Columbia, the company was established in response to the energy crisis. In 1980, Osburn became the first North American manufacturer to produce a wood stove compliant with Oregon's strict air emission standards.
Osburn was acquired by Stove Builder International (SBI) in 2002, and operations were transferred to Quebec City in 2003. SBI, a subsidiary of the Empire Group, also owns the Drolet, Enerzone, Valcourt, and Englander brands. All Osburn heating appliances are manufactured in Canada.
Qualifying Osburn wood and pellet stoves can provide federal tax credits under Section 25C. The credit covers 30% of purchase and installation costs for biomass stoves with thermal efficiency ratings of at least 75%, capped at $2,000 annually.
UniColorado Heating & Cooling installs cold-climate heat pumps as primary heating systems for Denver homes, providing automatic, efficient comfort without combustion or fuel storage.
