    About ThermaTru

ThermaTru is a manufacturer of fiberglass and steel entry door systems headquartered in Maumee, Ohio. The company was founded in 1962 when David Welles, a retired Owens Corning executive, purchased a bankrupt building supply company in Toledo, Ohio. In 1983, ThermaTru launched the Fiber-Classic, the first fiberglass entry door on the market.

ThermaTru became part of Fortune Brands Home & Security in 2003 and operates as part of the company's Outdoors & Security segment. The company maintains its corporate headquarters in Maumee, Ohio, with an Innovation Center in Monclova, Ohio. ThermaTru has been named the brand used most by builders for more than 20 consecutive years.

Qualifying energy-efficient ThermaTru entry doors can provide federal tax credits under Section 25C. The credit covers 30% of product and installation costs, with a maximum of $250 per door and $500 annually for all exterior doors combined.
