About Rebate.Blue
What it does
- QMID lookup: the IRS Qualified Manufacturer Identification number for each manufacturer, which Form 5695 asks for when you claim the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit.
- Heat pump insights: every AHRI-certified heat pump ranked on cold-weather performance and efficiency, with the standards each model meets.
- Form 5695 guides: where each credit and the QMID go on the form.
These are free and need no account. The access code on the front page is for a private rebate-processing platform; the public tools never ask for it.
Where the data comes from
- QMID codes: the IRS list of qualified manufacturers and manufacturers' own certification statements. Anyone can submit a missing code with a link to its source; submissions are reviewed before they are published.
- Heat pump figures: the AHRI Directory of Certified Product Performance, NEEP's cold-climate heat pump list and ENERGY STAR. The methodology page explains how each number is calculated and when the data was last updated.
Nothing here is tax advice. Check a QMID against the IRS list before you file.
Who runs it
Rebate.Blue is published by DotBlue LLC, a UniCo Group company. DotBlue also makes the other .blue tools.
The rebate platform behind the access code is used by UniColorado Heating & Cooling, a sister company in Denver, to file the rebate paperwork for its own installs.
