SPAN
About SPAN
SPAN is a San Francisco-based smart electrical panel company founded in 2018 by Arch Rao, a former Tesla Energy engineer. The company has raised over $231 million in venture funding and sells across 47 U.S. states. SPAN replaces the traditional breaker panel with an intelligent load center that provides circuit-level monitoring, app-based control, and seamless integration with solar, batteries, and EV chargers.
The product lineup centers on the SPAN Panel, available in configurations from 16 to 48 circuit spaces. The flagship MAIN 40 +MID includes a built-in microgrid interconnection device that eliminates separate transfer switches for solar and battery systems. SPAN also offers the SPAN Drive (Level 2+ EV charger) and SPAN Edge (utility-focused load control device). All panels carry UL 3141 Power Control Systems certification - the first smart panel company to achieve this standard.
SPAN smart panels qualify for federal 25C tax credits as home energy management systems when installed alongside another eligible electrification project (heat pump, heat pump water heater, induction cooktop, etc.). The credit covers up to $600 per household. For homeowners pursuing whole-home electrification, SPAN serves as the central hub connecting solar, batteries, HVAC, and EV charging into one managed system.
UniColorado Heating & Cooling is Denver's top heat pump installer, serving homeowners across Littleton, Aurora, Boulder, and the Front Range with cold-climate heat pump expertise.
