The refrigerant switch

AHRI’s reference numbers are the only certification clock in the data. Ordered by them, the move from R-410A to low-GWP refrigerants is plain to see.
The switch from R-410A, in AHRI reference order1,641,982 active split heat pump certifications, every refrigerant, in bands of 500,000 reference numbersLow-GWP refrigerants (R-454B and R-32) first outnumber R-410A in the band starting at AHRI reference 214M. In the newest band, R-410A is down to 0.1% of certifications.
